Jakarta, BatamEkbiz.com – On this year’s International Coffee Day that falls every 1 October, Starbucks conducted a rigorous internal competition nationwide called Barista Idol’s since August to create and present to Starbucks fans topmost exquisite barista creations. Resulting from this competition are four award-winning beverages.
Starbucks builds its position as the coffee leader in the market through innovative and skillful baristas and these four baristas have the opportunity to share their coffee passion and creativity with customers by crafting new creations, ranging from Hot Espresso Beverage, Iced Espresso Beverage and Coffee Frappuccino® Blended Beverage category.
“This year’s International Coffee Day, we are glad to introduce these top four beverage creations that enrich the many ways of enjoying Starbucks. Here, we believe the strength and ability of our partners (Starbucks employees) that make them the source of inspiration behind many campaigns, events and even the innovative beverages we serve. This is also an implementation of our mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time. Through this campaign, we nurture and involve all partners (employees), from store to support center (head office), to give the best out of it,” explained Liryawati, chief marketing officer of PT Sari Coffee Indonesia.
She continued, “We know the hard work and pride that goes into your cup, starting with the barista who pours their heart and passion into the beverage that makes it more than just a beverage. At the preliminary stage, our barista had the privilege to creatively utilize and explore the existing ingredients at store to crafting a new coffee-based recipe. Our highest appreciation is not only to the shortlisted baristas but also to all partners (employees) who have contributed their time and passion to support this.”
Elevating Starbucks Experience Through Our Barista Creations
Despite limitations and some adjustments at stores, partners (employees) have embraced Barista Idol’s competition as a way to stay connected to their customers and to one another. Started in August, there were 138 beverage submissions from 46 partners (employees) across all districts in Indonesia. The top four creations are Royal Salted Caramel Coffee Frappuccino® by Komang Agustana (Starbucks Level 21 Bali), Earl Grey Coffee Frappuccino® by Chloe Carissa Putri S. (Starbucks DriveThru Kota Wisata), Iced Biscotti Latte by I Made Arya Danur Dhara (Starbucks Reserve Dewata Bali), and Hot Choco Nutty Berry Latte by Mohammad Fajar (Starbucks Reserve Plaza Indonesia).
